Fix "MACHINE ID NOT FOUND" – Manzar Typesetting Tool Plugin

If you're using the Manzar Typesetting Tool Plugin for Adobe InDesign and see the error:

MACHINE ID NOT FOUND

This means that your Windows system does not have the WMIC (Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line) feature installed.

Why This Happens

• WMIC is used to read your system's Baseboard Serial Number.
• Our plugin verifies your license with this ID during InDesign startup.
• Newer versions of Windows 11 treat WMIC as an optional feature and do not install it by default.

How to Fix It (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Open PowerShell as Administrator

1. Click Start → type powershell
2. Right-click Windows PowerShell → select Run as Administrator

Step 2: Install WMIC

Paste the command below into PowerShell:

dism /online /add-capability /capabilityname:WMIC

Let the installation finish. It may take a few minutes.

Step 3: Confirm Installation

1. Open Command Prompt (type cmd in Start Menu).
2. Run this command:

wmic baseboard get serialnumber

You should see a serial number like:

SerialNumber XYZ123456789

Step 4: Restart InDesign

• Close and reopen Adobe InDesign.
• The error message should now disappear.
